We’ve Been Shortlisted!

karen · September 25, 2020 ·

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been shortlisted for our two short films in this year’s Community Rail Awards. The films entitled ‘A Journey Through Community Rail’ cover both careers and volunteering and were developed based on feedback from you as our members. Thanks to Community Rail Network and the Board for giving us something to look forward to at the end of the year!

What we’ve been up to

karen · July 14, 2020 ·

Our Southern branch held its first Equalitea Party this month with every WiCR member across the country invited. Tea and cake were not the only things that were in full flow. Organised by our friends at Community Rail Lancashire
break out rooms helped fuel the debate with attendees agreeing to hold regular monthly meetings virtually to help support and mentor our members in WiCR. For more information please contact Edna Woname at

Training Session — We need your feedback!

karen · June 25, 2020 ·

Members will be aware that we had planned two training sessions this year but had to cancel our Safeguarding course when COVID hit. We plan to reschedule this in the not too distant future. Now more than ever, mental health awareness is vital, particularly looking after our own and maintaining our personal wellbeing should be everyone’s priority. We are keen to schedule an online ‘Mental Health First Aid Champion’ course but with significant cost attached to delivering this, we need to ensure that the course will be well subscribed and attended. Please let us know if this is
something you would be interested in attending? It is important for WiCR to demonstrate how our activities have been of benefit to our members so in turn we need you to support our training events. If there is enough interest we will put this vital training on at the earliest opportunity. Please contact us at info.wicrail@gmail.com
